Gramps Missouri Girls Basketball Predictions

The girls play the games.  What Gramps says does not mean "S#it" but I throw these out there to determine whether the ratings hold water.  If the bucket leaks, you go back to the drawing board.  So far the buckets seem water-worthy and Gramps is getting about 85% of the girl's district games correct based upon my last ratings post for each class.

It gets tougher now as the competition heats up and if I get 65 or 70% correct, I will be doing just fine.  But don't take this very seriously.  Let the girls compete and enjoy the high level of basketball being played.  It just gets better every year.

All of my comments are based on statistical comparisons.  Go to Earl Time Podcasts for an in-depth analysis of players.

I have listed the Class One through Four State tournament teams with their rating and the favorite (with the spread in the right-hand column).  Classes Five and Six are still playing in the District finals.

Class One - Delta takes on scrappy NE Cairo in one semi-final that might be more of a state championship, based on ratings, but don't count out Platte Valley (South Nodaway/Jefferson/Conjunction) who will give either opponent and great game.  Champion - Delta

Class Two - Principia Girls get to dance like their boys teams did last year, possibly making the final.  The Tipton - Skyline semi-final features the two best class two teams in the state.  I lean with Skyline for the state title, but would not be surprised by the Tipton girls.

Class Three - Fair Grove should handle Pius X Festus and face a determined Centralia or El Dorado Team in an epic final.  The Centralia/El Dorado game could also be one for the ages.  Fair Grove wins it all (maybe).

Class Four - I may wait to pick by final four but the first round has at least four or five games that could go overtime. I think Lift for Life may run the table.

Class Five -  John Burroughs is my statistical favorite but Ritter (in their district), Lutheran St. Charles and Marshfield all have a shot in the state bracket.  More on Class Five later.

Class Six - Incarnate Word wins their seventh in a row and gazillionth consecutive game.  Don't expect their win streak to end soon.
